The East of England Co op Band was formed in 1982 but was known as the Ipswich Town Band. In 1992 the was delighted to accept sponsorship from the Ipswich and Norwich Co-operative Society (now known as the East of England Co-operative Society) and has been a thriving contesting band throughout this time.
The band currently competes in the First Section of the National Brass Band Association and has on a number of occasions been promoted into the Championship Section, with our most recent promotion taking place later this year in 2022. As well as contesting, we perform at a number of concerts and events across East Anglia. If you would like to talk to us about a potential booking, please contact us through this site.
2022 is an exciting year for the band celebrating their 40th Anniversary which we will be commemorated with a number of special events. If you would like to see the band in action, please look at our Events page for details of where we will be playing.
If you are a brass player yourself and would like to enquire about joining the band, please contact us here. We rehearse on Monday evenings in Ipswich with extra rehearsals around contests.
With the continued and generous support of the East of England Cooperative Society and our supporters, we hope to continue many more years of performing and music making.
